So it started last Friday with a sleepover at our house. Josie and Sam had a wonderful time playing with our kids, Brady, Anna, and Tyler. I loved watching the girls sing songs from "Frozen" as we all enjoyed pizza and homemade ice cream and watched "Peter Pan." The girls all snuggled into one room and Anna played the "big girl cousin" roll to perfection. I enjoyed hearing the girls chat and giggle about 3-6 year old girly stuff as they fell asleep. Oh to be a fly on the wall in those situations! Hilarious and sweet. When aunt Rene was kissing Sam goodnight, she asked Sam to say her prayers. Without hesitation, Sam folded her hands, looked up and sweetly whispered, "Dear God. I love Jo. Make her better."
The kicker of this sleepover night was that Josh also had an overnight with his grandparents, so Matt and Alissa had a much needed night off. They had dinner and were able to regroup as a couple. Everyone was charged up by this start to the weekend. Hope to do it again soon Matt and Alissa!!! We are all here for you and having your kids is a complete Joy.
The kids spent the next day at the Oregon Dairy. They had so much fun that they returned with Aunt Stacy, Owen, and Aubrey. What a blast. Later in the week it was special hair do's with Amanda at Lotus Salon. It's hard for Jo to get a bath and hairwash because her port dressing can't get wet, so salon trips weekly have been quite the occasions. Sam is soaking it up too! Such beautiful little girls.
Josie is ready for her family trip. I am so proud of Matt and Alissa and the Lubas family for making this trip happen. Again, everyone is displaying such great courage during these trying times. I have no doubt that as a family they will make memories that will last a lifetime.
Alissa was trying to tuck Jo into bed just the other night and Josie said, "I don't want to go to bed, I want to be on the beach with a bag of Doritos!"
Regular nacho or cool ranch Josie girl? We are by your side and we love you. XOXO
