To all of our readers thank you for your concern, your prayers, your thoughts, and your love. Matt and Alissa are truly grateful for your love and support. They need to feel your love. But they also need privacy. They asked me to set up this blog as a way to inform all of you about Josie's condition and any developments. Alissa and Matt will communicate with me and I will post updates for all of you. These next few months will be extremely difficult for them. They need to be mindful, engaged, and intentional with every minute and I want this blog to help them avoid distractions. Time is so precious. Use this blog to get your updates. Post a comment. Matt and Alissa will be checking the blog often and I know that your comments and thoughts will help them through this.
Me again. Here's some more information. A few weeks ago, Josie started getting headaches in the back of her head. Matt and Alissa grew concerned and took Josie to the emergency room at the Reading hospital. A mass was discovered on a C-Scan and Josie was quickly taken to Hershey Medical Center. There, an MRI confirmed that Josie had a tumor growing around the back of her brain, in the brainstem. It is very rare, aggressive, and terminal. Josie and her parents are committed to fighting back against this tumor. Josie is already enrolled in a study and will have treatments under the supervision of the best child brain cancer doctors in the world. She'll be traveling back and forth to Hershey Medical Center for these treatments starting later this week. Without a miracle, Josie has only 4 to 12 months to live.
On Saturday, March 8 my niece Josie Grove was diagnosed with a brain tumor. We are all terribly shocked and saddened beyond words. Matt and Alissa want to keep friends and family in the loop, so here goes my first try at setting up a blog where everyone can communicate and gather information without overwhelming Matt and Alissa with requests for updates. I will consider this my first "test post." I will update shortly.
